What is a Polymer80 Frame?
A Polymer80 (P80) frame is an 80% lower receiver — a partially completed pistol frame that requires machining to become functional. Unlike a serialized firearm, an 80 percent lower is classified as an unfinished piece of material, not a firearm. P80 frames are compatible with standard Glock components: the PF940C fits Glock 19 Gen 3 parts, the PF940v2 fits Glock 17 Gen 3 parts, and the PF9SS fits Glock 43 parts.
Which P80 Frame Should I Choose?
For concealed carry: The PF940C (compact, Glock 19 size) is the most popular Polymer80 frame for everyday carry. It accepts standard 15-round 9mm magazines and fits in most Glock 19 holsters.
For home defense / range: The PF940v2 (full-size, Glock 17 size) offers a longer sight radius and 17+1 capacity. It’s the easiest P80 frame to build and shoot accurately.
For deep concealment: The PF9SS (subcompact, Glock 43 size) is the smallest Polymer80 option — single-stack, slim, and easily pocketable.
What Do I Need for a Complete P80 Build?
A complete Polymer80 build requires: (1) a P80 80% frame with jig and drill bits (included), (2) a slide assembly (barrel, recoil spring, slide completion kit), (3) a lower parts kit (trigger, pins, springs), and (4) a magazine.
